Crank Up My Remix!
Author: adminThe amazing DJ Trentino is remixing my song “Crank Up My Holiday” so everyone can get their grind on under the mistletoe this season! Check out his really cool remix of “Leavin’” by Jesse McCartney on his myspace page.
Vote Wells for Popstar ‘08… “He has amazing cheekbones.”
Author: adminMusic blogger Paul from FizzyPop!! just wrote a very flattering blurb about me on his site. I was in a shitty mood yesterday so reading his post first thing this morning started me off on the right foot
I also love the comment below it where Ben says “I love that Cutting Crew song and he actually doesn’t ruin it.” I thank you Paul for the kind review of my tunes and my retoucher thanks you for the review of my cheekbones
I chatted with Raj at Electroqueer the other day which is an awesome blog on electronic pop music. He also gave me a super nice writeup and I answered a few questions which you can check out here!
I’ve hit the flatline…
Author: adminI’m working on a lot of new material for an album I hope to get out next year (on a wider scale this time) but until then I’ve “leaked” a new cut for everyone to check out. Here’s a jam I recently wrote, produced, and recorded that samples the 80’s classic “I Just Died In Your Arms” by Cutting Crew. I’d love everyone’s feedback (good or bad) so leave me a comment on here or myspace!
I put this track on myspace yesterday and it’s already on a handful of illegal download sites. Does it mean I’ve made it if people like my music enough to pirate it? lol
And a private note to the class act who likes to steal my music and claim/sell it as his own on various websites (if you’re reading this) please watch your step because next time I will definitely take further legal action. By all means feel free to listen to it but if you’re afraid you might like it so much you just gotta put it out there with your name on it instead of mine maybe you should resist the urge of clicking that play icon
PEACE

Author: adminI’m a huge fan of the Diesel clothing brand, the fact I named my puppy after it should be enough proof of that.
Diesel is celebrating their 30th Anniversary by selling a limited number of “Dirty Thirty” jeans for only $50! They go on sale this Friday, October 10th so anyone who wants some great jeans at a ridiculously low price make sure you get to the store early.
Diesel is also throwing a number of “birthday parties” internationally with performers like M.I.A., Mark Ronson, and N.E.R.D. Unfortunately they won’t be having a party here in LA. Why couldn’t Diesel have turned 30 when I was still in NYC living a few blocks from their Union Square store?
Ear Candy
Author: adminHere’s some cool songs I’ve discovered recently, download them…
Michelle Williams - Stop This Car
Spotlight - Jennifer Hudson
I Lust You - Neon Neon
In Your Eyes - The Wrecking (a punky cover of my all time favorite song by Peter Gabriel)
Black & Gold - Sam Sparro
I came across a review online for Sam Sparro’s album and the music blogger compared him to me - it’s the first time I’ve ever heard of someone comparing an artist to me which is pretty flattering
He even has a song titled “Hot Mess” hmm…
Smile Makeover
Author: adminYears ago I had the displeasure of wearing braces and a number of dental appliances which straightened my teeth but also made my gumline uneven from the strain. I’ve been unhappy with my smile for a few years so I decided to get myself a TV-style makeover. I made an appointment with one of the best periodontists in the country, he even invents procedures the other docs use.
I just underwent 5 hours of surgery that gave me an even gumline. Instead of being asleep with anesthesia like I was when my wisdom teeth were removed I just took an anti-anxiety medication that allowed me to sit through the long procedure. I even got to listen to my ipod. Everything went smoothly except I kept trying to have a conversation with the doctor which isn’t too smart when you have a hundred stitches in your mouth.
Now I’m at home recovering on my couch with my friend Codeine. Hello Kitty is here too since this is the only ice pack I could find at my local CVS lol…
“Rock & Roll”
Author: adminJust about two months in California and I’ve already experienced my first earthquake. About an hour ago (at 11:42 AM) I was in my condo when everything started shaking. At first I thought a truck was passing by but quickly realized it wouldn’t be that forceful. The shaking calmed down after about 20 seconds and I heard the building settling. I went online a few minutes later and sure enough the quake was already being reported and apparently was a 5.8 magnitude which is considered moderate.
California Love
Author: adminI moved to California a couple weeks ago and have been setting up my studio, just got some new gear and I’m using it on new productions that’ll be out soon. Right now I’m doing a song called “Someone 4 Everyone” which is both a track for my next album and a jingle for O.N.E. The track is really different from anything I’ve done cuz it has some island flavor - think Sean Kingston and Rihanna.
“Encino Man”
Author: adminFor the past month I’ve been stressin out searching for the perfect place to live for at least my first year in CA. At first I’d found a big condo in Studio City with a great layout so I sent a friend in Cali to check it out on my behalf - turns out the place was stuck in the 60’s and not in a cool retro way, all of the appliances and fixtures were old as shit. I offered to sign a two year lease and do thousands of dollars worth of renovations at no cost to the owner and the nutjob refused and said she’s not ready for that. Anyone who has sentimental value for a dirty electric coil stove that’s falling apart is just plain weird. So after another week of frustration from that deal falling through I found a place in Encino just off Ventura Blvd. for less rent that has even more space and everything has been completely renovated! This place is awesome… a full chef’s kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite counters, huge enclosed sun porch, jacuzzi bathtub, steam shower, and a walk-in closet - I haven’t had any of this stuff in NYC. On top of that I actually have an extremely nice landlord who’s *gasp* totally cool with me painting the place custom colors and with me having dogs. So many places I looked at wouldn’t allow dogs; considering mine are 10 pounds and don’t make noise it’s a little ridiculous. Anyways, I’ll be moving June 1st and will post some pics and vids of my sweet setup. Right now there’s nothing at killianwells.com but I’m setting it up to be my blog.

Hollywood is calling…
Author: adminI love New York but hate the cold weather and my equally cold, evil landlord who wants to raise my rent almost $500 more than I’m paying now. Ironically my landlord was busted about ten years ago by the RIAA for selling thousands of bootleg CD’s, stealing from working musicians like myself. So, taking a lyric from my own songbook I figure life can only be like Hollywood if I move there. I’m starting the pre-move process and plan to be in Cali sometime in June ’08. I plan on doing lots of awesome collaborations once I get there!
Apart from my relocation I’m working on some exciting stuff (both music and non-music related) that I’ll have more info on soon. Recently I accepted an invitation to affiliate with the highly selective performance rights organization SESAC which one of my producer idols, Nate ’Danja’ Hills is a part of! Other affiliates include Bob Dylan, Bryan-Michael Cox, and Swizz Beatz.
